The Issue: The House’s subpoenaing of Hunter Biden over recurring payments to President Biden.
I understand why Hunter Biden should first be deposed in private; that is standard procedure (“Hunter contempt risk,” Dec. 7).
In private, he would have to answer honestly instead of putting on a rehearsed show from the Democratic side of the aisle, like his father does at press conferences.
Anyone who has had personal dealings with addicts knows that they think they can con anyone at any time; yes, even recovering addicts.
If there are really 10,000 documents to go over, as House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer claims, this will take quite a while.
Well, at least he can pick up his delivery at the White House near the Situation Room.

Comer and his committee continue to reveal more incriminating information in spite of the White House stonewalling their requests, and yet the Democrats stand firm in their denial of any wrongdoing.
Looking at the Democrats’ and Hunter Biden’s response to being subpoenaed, should we ask if justice is blind?
President Biden’s 50-some years’ career in government as “the poorest man” in public service has seriously tarnished our republic.
Truth should triumph over party loyalty and save our democracy.

The Post is freaking out because in 2018, when Biden was neither vice president nor president, his son Hunter repaid a loan for a vehicle (“Follow the 1st Family money,” Editorial, Dec. 5).
The Post and Comer argue that this is proof of corruption, and Comer now says it’s grounds for impeachment. Where’s the “high crime or misdemeanor” required by the Constitution?
I realize that in Trumpworld, paying your bills is unusual. For some reason, however, Hunter paying his father back is a scandal?
Even if Hunter got the money from sketchy consulting fees, is The Post now saying a parent who helped their kid out must now demand to know the source of the repayment?
Seems to me The Post’s hatred of Biden is going too far.

When a reporter asked Biden whether he had received money from foreign sources, his reply was: “Where’s the money?”
I think the time for plausible deniability has run out. While no direct payment to President Biden has been found yet, there were checks written to him by his brother and his son via their companies.
And those checks coincidentally represent 10% of the amounts received, making Hunter Biden’s one-time reference of withholding “10% for the big guy” a feasible reality.
Trying to mask them as payback for loans will not hold water.
The Justice Department, a misnomer at best, ran block for the Bidens as long as it could. An impeachment proceeding is now clearly justified.
In paraphrasing Richard Nixon, the American people have a right to know if their president is a crook.

The revelation that Joe Biden got money on a regular basis from Hunter’s companies labeled as various loan-repayments explains his decisions in office.
What do the sources of this money have on Biden? He cannot, with this appearance of impropriety, sit as president.
It is time for Democrats to recognize this and treat him the way Republicans treated Richard Nixon — by supporting impeachment.

The GOP is a total, transparent embarrassment. They spent 10 months wailing and moaning about Hunter Biden and some vast “Biden family” conspiracy.
And now, after sending Hunter Biden a subpoena to appear and testify, Comer and House Oversight Committee Republicans reject Hunter’s offer to answer any questions that they will pose publicly and in front of the eyes of the world.
Why? Because Republicans are allergic to the truth. All they have is “a show” and no evidence.
