Iranian President Hassan Rouhani lashed out at President Trump for withdrawing from the Iranian nuclear deal, telling the UN General Assembly that his country had abided by the agreement’s terms.

“It is unfortunate that we are witnessing powers in the world who think they can secure their interests better or at least in the short term ride public sentiment to gain public support for the fomenting of extremist nationalism and racism, and through xenophobic tendencies resembling a Nazi disposition,” Rouhani said.

He said that Trump had not only pulled out of the deal, but followed that up by threatening the Islamic regime and imposing what Rouhani called unjust sanctions.

“Ladies and gentlemen, unlawful and unilateral sanctions in themselves constitute a form of international terrorism,” he said, accusing the US of starting ”an economic war” against his country and Trump of “bullying” Iranian leaders.

He said problems would best be solved by dialogue, but that dialogue had to be a two-way street.

And he suggested that Trump deplored the agreement only because it was negotiated by President Barack Obama — and invited the American to return to the negotiating table.

“I am starting the dialogue right here,” Rouhani said. “Dialogue can resume in this Assembly by the same person … who walked away from the accord.”

Trump had earlier harshly criticized the regime for, he said, supporting terrorism throughout the Mideast.
