Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and top adviser to President Trump, reportedly does not have a security clearance to view the nation’s most closely guarded secrets.

Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump, initially had an interim security clearance and was granted a permanent clearance in May that only gave him “top secret” status, according to The Washington Post.

The designation means Kushner is not approved to review “sensitive compartmented information,” also known as SCI, the paper said.

This prevents Kushner from viewing parts of the President’s Daily Brief, a top-secret intelligence document provided to the president each morning.

It was unclear why Kushner did not have access to the sensitive intelligence.
