Rep. Jim Jordan tore into the credibility of Michael Cohen, the former longtime lawyer of President Trump, as he appeared before a House committee on Wednesday.

Jordan, the ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee, said, “I want everyone to think about this” — that the first guy Chairman Elijah Cummings brought before the panel is a guy who is “going to prison in two months for lying to Congress.”

“This might be the first time someone convicted of lying to Congress has appeared again so quickly in front of Congress,” he said.

“This is a first, because no other committee would do it,” Jordan said.

He laid out a list of crimes that federal prosecutors said Cohen committed.

But “the Democrats don’t care,” he said. “You are their patsy today.”

Cohen is scheduled to report to prison on May 6 to begin serving a three-year sentence.
