Former Vice President Joe Biden had his best fundraising month in March with $46.7 million in donations but still lags behind President Trump and the Republican Party by nearly $200 million.

President Trump and committees inside the Republican Party raised $63 million last month and began April with $244 million in cash on hand, Axios reported, citing Federal Election Commission filings.

Biden and the Democratic National Committee have $57.2 million in the bank, putting them $187 million behind Trump.

The New York Times noted that Biden and the DNC could raise $1 million a day between now and Election Day in November and they would barely catch up – without taking into account new fundraising totals from Trump.

Biden became the presumptive Democratic nominee earlier this month when Sen. Bernie Sanders dropped out of the race and endorsed the former veep for president.

Biden’s campaign touted the March fundraising haul, saying 70 percent of it came from online donations.

“You and so many others lifted us up on your shoulders, generated record levels of turnout, and propelled us in state after state to a historic comeback victory,” Biden wrote to supporters Monday. “Now I am especially proud to say that every one of our primary opponents has endorsed our campaign. We are leading a unified Democratic party to take on Donald Trump.”
