Kanye West says Donald Trump screamed at him when the controversial rapper told him that not only was he launching a 2024 White House bid — but that he wanted the former president to be his running mate.
The rapper, 45, who now goes by Ye, offered up the details of his Mar-a-Lago meeting with teh 7y6-year-old Trump as he released his first campaign video on Twitter late Thursday.
West — who has only just returned to Twitter after being banned over an anti-Semitic rant — insisted Trump wasn’t thrilled with the rapper’s pitch for higher office after he traveled to see the ex-commander-in-chief at his Palm Beach estate earlier this week.
“When Trump started basically screaming at the table telling me I was gonna lose, I mean, has that ever worked for anyone in history?” West says in the short campaign clip.
“I’m like, ‘Wait, hold on Trump, you’re talking to Ye.’”
West added that Trump, who made his own official campaign announcement last week, was “perturbed” by the rapper’s request to have him as his number two.
“I think the thing Trump was most perturbed about [was] me asking him to be my vice president,” West says in his campaign video.

Elsewhere in the ranting clip — titled “Mar-a-Lago debrief” — West claimed he walked into the Mar-a-Lago meeting “with intelligence” — and urged the 45th president to listen more to his loyalists, including white nationalist Nicholas Fuentes.
He also made a brief reference to freeing the MAGA rioters arrested for storming the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“When all the lawyers said, ‘forget it, Trump’s done,’ there were loyalists running up in the White House, right? And my question would be, ‘Why, when you had the chance, did you not free the January 6ers?’”
West said he counseled Trump on supporting “these people that the media tried to cancel” — as images of former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, Trump ally Roger Stone and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones flashed up.
Ye also challenged Trump on not acting to legally protect those who were involved in the Capitol riot. Ye/TwitterThe rapper also claimed Trump tried to dismiss him with a “would-be mob-esque” story about how he only granted clemency to Alice Johnson in 2018 as a favor to him.
Johnson had her life sentence commuted after West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, campaigned heavily to free her.
“He basically gives me this would-be mob-esque kind of story of all that he went through to get Alice Johnson out of jail and that he did not do it for Kim but he did it for me,” West says in the clip, adding that Trump then hurled an insult at Kardashian.
The insult is bleeped out in the clip but West said Trump allegedly told him: “You can tell her I said that.”
“I was thinking, like, that’s the mother of my children,” West added.
The release of West’s campaign video comes amid a series of his unhinged rants and outbursts.
The rapper was suspended from Twitter in October after writing that he wanted to go “death con 3” on Jews.
He only returned to the social media site last Sunday and announced his plan to run for president in 2024 the same day.
