The husband of White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway on Tuesday mocked President Trump’s outrage over the

, Michael Cohen.

George Conway lll retweeted an image of a Watergate-era headline — “Nixon Sees ‘Witch-Hunt,’ Insiders Say” — atop the bylines of Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, whose exposes helped topple the nation’s 37th president.

Conway, a Yale-trained lawyer who last year withdrew from consideration to head the Justice Department’s Civil Division, also tweeted a link to the DOJ’s guidelines for prosecutors related to “Searches of Premises of Subject Attorneys.”

“There are occasions when effective law enforcement may require the issuance of a search warrant for the premises of an attorney who is a subject of an investigation, and who also is or may be engaged in the practice of law on behalf of clients,” the US Attorney’s Manual says.

Trump — who on Monday blasted the FBI searches as “an attack our our country, in a true sense” — repeated his condemnation Tuesday morning in a pair of tweets declaring that “Attorney–client privilege is dead!” and adding: “A TOTAL WITCH HUNT!!!”
