North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signaled on Thursday morning in Hanoi that he may be willing to accept a deal that includes full denuclearization of his country.

Speaking at a brief press conference before a working lunch with President Trump, Kim was asked if he’d be willing to accept a deal that would dismantle North Korea’s nuclear arsenal.

“If not I’m willing to do that, I wouldn’t be here right now,” he responded through a translator.

“That might be the best answer you’ve ever heard,” Trump responded after the remark.

Trump and Kim were holding a second day of talks at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi during their two-day summit on nuclear negotiations between the two nations.

They responded to questions from reporters at about 11 a.m. local time.

The North Korean leader had also said he was willing to denuclearize the Korean peninsula after his first summit with Trump in June of 2018.

During Thursday’s meeting, Kim also seemed open to allowing a U.S. diplomatic office in Pyongyang.
