The Issue: Republican Glenn Youngkin’s victory over Terry McAuliffe in the Virginia governor’s race.

Virginia voters have spoken and have chosen a more moderate and centrist candidate, who does not push extremist agendas and does not seek to dramatically alter this nation for the worse (“Virginia shocker,” Nov. 3).

They have chosen a candidate who is less divisive and will help heal our divided nation.

The Democratic Party leadership should pay attention. They are clearly out of touch with reality. You can only go so far before the people fight back.

Now that the people of Virginia and New Jersey have sent out a message loud and clear that they despise the far-left agenda of Democrats, will the Democratic National Committee be smart enough to get the hint?

I hope not. Pray that Sleepy Joe Biden and his clueless cronies continue to babble on about their radical policies. It will lead to a landslide of red in 2022, and America will be on the road back to greatness.

The result of the Virginia gubernatorial election on Tuesday should speak loudly to Democrats: Former President Donald Trump is not on the ballot.

Put simply, you cannot win elections by running against Trump and making him the issue.

Voters are tired of that strategy, and Republican candidates are becoming rhetorically savvy, learning how to win by deflecting and carefully finessing the Trump issue while simultaneously securing Trump’s base.

If Democrats don’t figure this out quickly, 2022 will be a disaster, with both the House and Senate being flipped.

In addition, Democrats in Congress — progressives and moderates —must stop bickering.

I am sick and tired of the Democrats caring more about Americans than their Republican counterparts but rhetorically shooting themselves in the foot.

So Glenn Youngkin surprised Washington and the Democrats by becoming Virginia’s governor.

The “big guns” that came in — Sleepy Joe, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama — couldn’t help stem the tide of a GOP victory. Terry McAuliffe went down, despite the rhetoric about Trump.

Now it’s time to get rid of the poisonous progressives who are infecting this country with their own brand of hatred. Let’s give America back to the people again.

How apropos that the state emblem of Virginia depicts a woman holding a spear and standing over a dead tyrant. The words “Sic semper tyrannis” or “Thus always to tyrants” appear at the bottom.

Mess with the moms of this country at your own peril.

The victory of Youngkin can be attributed to many things.

The electorate is in a sour mood and the president’s approval rating has sunk into negative territory, which weighs down party candidates.

Youngkin capitalized on a bogus issue: the teaching of so-called “critical race theory,” which for many means that history that embarrasses us should not be taught.

One year from now, a crucial midterm election will take place, and in 2024, a presidential race. Imagine what will befall our country if the many radical GOP members who continue to deny Biden’s election victory in 2020 seize power in the House.

May the president and the Democrats be able to regroup in the year to come.

It’s remarkable that the left-wingers who lose stick to the same rhetoric that caused their defeat.

Democrats lost in Virginia partly because they denied parents the right to contribute ideologically to their children’s education. Democrats claim it was only white racists who voted for Youngkin.

It’s like kids losing a sandlot baseball game and blaming the other team’s hidden strategies for their defeat.
