A majority of voters do not want to see President Trump run for the White House again in 2024, while 42% said history would remember him as “one of the worst presidents,” according to a new poll from Fox News.

The poll found a decisive 57% of voters would prefer a different GOP standard bearer in the next presidential election. Only 22% of voters think he’ll be remembered as “one of the greatest” presidents.

The poll also had more bad news for Trump’s legacy, with 55% of voters saying the US was worse off today than it was four years ago. Just 32% said better, while 11% said the same.

In response to Ronald Reagan’s famous question of whether you are better off now than four years ago, 33% said better, 30% said worse and 36% said the same.

The poll was conducted by Beacon Research and Shaw & Company between Dec. 6 and 9 with a sample size of 1,007. There is a margin of error of plus or minus 3 points.

“Only 32 percent think we’re better off than before Trump took office,” GOP pollster Daron Shaw, who helped conduct the survey told Fox News. “That’s one reason why half of voters say history will judge his presidency negatively.”

Trump is the first one-term president since George H.W. Bush.
