WASHINGTON — First lady Melania Trump, 50, confirmed she is experiencing “mild symptoms” of the coronavirus after she and President Trump tested positive for the illness overnight.

In a tweet Friday morning, the first lady said she was looking forward to a speedy recovery and thanked the public for their support as the couple began quarantining in the White House residence.

“Thank you for the love you are sending our way. I have mild symptoms but overall feeling good. I am looking forward to a speedy recovery,” she told her 15 million followers.

Shortly before 1 a.m., the president confirmed the bombshell news that the couple had received positive COVID-19 tests — just hours after it became public that White House counselor Hope Hicks was also infected.

Chief of staff Mark Meadows confirmed reports that the commander-in-chief has mild symptoms but said he was “engaged” and was continuing to work from home.

“The great thing about this president is not only is he staying committed to working very hard on behalf of the American people, his first question to me this morning was: ‘How is the economy doing, how are the stimulus talks going on Capitol Hill?’” he told reporters at the White House.

Trump reportedly displayed “cold-like symptoms” and seemed tired during a fundraiser at his New Jersey golf resort Thursday, the New York Times reported.

One source told the publication that the president, known for his ability to function on very little sleep, had dozed on Air Force One after his rally in Minnesota on Wednesday evening.

His infection leaves the Trump 2020 campaign in uncharted territory, with the president stuck at home in quarantine, effectively grounding his campaign just 32 days out from the Nov. 3 presidential election.
