Major League Baseball players will be barred from playing in a Venezuela’s winter league because of economic sanctions against the country.

Earlier this month, President Trump issued a wide-ranging ban on US companies doing business with the socialist government of Nicolas Maduro.

MLB said Thursday then plan on adhering to Trump’s policy.

“With respect to the Venezuelan Winter League, MLB will suspend its involvement until it receives direction fro the relevant agencies,” they said in a statement.
