The majority of Americans believe Michael Cohen’s claim that President Trump instructed him to pay women hush money over alleged affairs — but don’t want to see the president impeached, according to a new poll.

The poll from Axios and SurveyMonkey found 64 percent of respondents think Cohen is on the level, but only 44 percent want Congress to begin impeachment proceedings.

Both questions are split starkly on party lines. A whopping 93 percent of Democrats believe the president’s former lawyer and fixer, while only 38 percent of Republicans do — and 79 percent of Democrats want impeachment, while just 8 percent of GOPers back that move.

A majority of African-American women and millennials polled endorsed impeachment, while rural voters, suburban white women and what Axios calls “Never Hillary” independents opposed it. A majority of all five of those groups believe Cohen, however.

Cohen last week admitted in court that he and Trump paid off two women — believed to be porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal — “for the purpose of influencing the election.” Trump denies having known about the payments until after Cohen made them.
