WASHINGTON — The vast majority of voters don’t think Donald Trump can execute his signature campaign pledge to have Mexico pay for a border wall, a new survey has found.
Just 13 percent of voters surveyed by ABC News say The Donald can deliver on his promise whereas 78 percent believe the GOP nominee can’t get Mexico to pay for a border wall.
The majority of voters in the online survey also had a negative reaction to Trump’s immigration speech in Arizona last week in which he doubled down on the wall, vowed to create a deportation force to
round up “criminal aliens” and pledged no amnesty.
The leading adjectives to describe the speech were “ridiculous,” “disgust,” “idiot” and “stupid.”
The ABC News/SSRS Poll was conducted Thursday and Friday among a nationally representative sample of 228 people with a margin of error of plus or minus 8.5 percentage points.
