Special counsel Robert Mueller has asked for phone records related to the statement about Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Kremlin-connected lawyer that was crafted aboard Air Force One, according to a new report.

That statement was put together as President Trump and his advisers returned from the G-20 summit in Germany in June. It said a meeting had taken place at Trump Tower, but was “primarily” about Russian adoptions.

Mueller also asked for documents related to the May 3 press briefing where Sean Spicer said that President Trump “has confidence” in former FBI Director James Comey, according to Politico.

Comey was fired on May 9 — and White House officials have said that decision was made the weekend after Spicer’s press conference.

The special counsel’s office has also inquired about documents concerning former national security adviser Michael Flynn and his dealings with Russian officials, Politico reported.

Mueller has asked whether there are any documents related to former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, as well.
