Elon Musk plans to donate around $45 million per month to a new political group backing ex-President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, according to a report. 

The Tesla boss — who fully endorsed Trump in the wake of the weekend assassination attempt — is one of several tech moguls contributing to the America PAC, sources told the Wall Street Journal.

The group is reportedly focused on rallying support for Trump in swing states to counter ground covered by the Democrats through “get out the vote” campaigns, the newspaper reported. 

Other backers include Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, former US ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband, Joe Craft, the chief executive of coal producer Alliance Resource Partners, the outlet reported.

America PAC was formed in Austin, Texas in May – where Musk’s electric car company Tesla is headquartered.

Musk, 53, has already donated a “sizeable amount” of money to America PAC, the total of which has not yet been disclosed.

The coalition has so far spent at least $6.6 million on behalf of Trump.

According to its website, America PAC encourages visitors to “register to vote” and “make a plan to vote early in person or by mail.”

“Vote and have your say if America can be a land of freedom and opportunity for all. We can have the greatest election victory in America’s history when you vote!” text on the website reads. 

Musk had refused to publicly endorse a candidate in the 2024 race until a 20-year-old gunman made an assassination attempt on Trump during a weekend rally in Pennsylvania.

The billionaire X owner took to the social media channel to “fully endorse” the Republican candidate just moments after the shooting.

Musk had left some clues, however: He has been consistently anti-Biden and has publicly shown his support for Trump across social media, particularly when he chose to reinstate the ex-president’s X account the same month he bought Twitter.
