The NYPD said Wednesday it would “re-evaluate” its security measures at Trump Tower and other locations across the city affiliated with the outgoing president now that President Biden has taken office.

“From now through the inauguration we will have a robust presence at Trump affiliated locations included Trump Tower on 5th Avenue,” a senior department official said in a statement. “After the inauguration we will reevaluate our security posture.”

Sources said in November that the NYPD plans to coordinate with the Secret Service to scale back their presence around Trump Tower on Thursday.

The portion of East 56th Street immediately south of Trump Tower is also expected to reopen to vehicular traffic now that Donald Trump has left office, the sources said.

Trump departed the White House for the final time as president Wednesday morning, and gave a farewell speech to hundreds of supporters at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
