President Obama said Wednesday he was “worried about the Republican Party,” in an appearance on “The Tonight Show” to air Thursday.
Asked by host Jimmy Fallon if he thought the GOP was happy with Donald Trump as the presidential nominee, Obama joked, “We are . . . but I don’t know how they’re feeling.” He added that the current GOP discord was “not actually good for the country as a whole.”
“It’s not something Democrats should wish for,” he said. “And my hope is, is that maybe once you get through this cycle, there’s some corrective action and they get back to being a center-right party.”
