Vice President Mike Pence sparred with Kamala Harris over tax policy at the vice presidential debate on Wednesday night, saying the American economic “comeback is on the ballot” in November’s election.

Pence was responding to Harris’ claim that a Biden administration would repeal the Trump tax cuts on the first day of his presidency.

“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris want to raise taxes, they want to bury our economy under a $2 trillion Green New Deal,” he said.

“Joe Biden says Democracy is on the ballot, make no mistake about it, the American economy, the American comeback is on the ballot,” he added.
