President Trump and first lady Melania Trump held a moment of silence aboard Air Force One on Friday to mark the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.
The observance in the conference room cabin began at 8:46 a.m. — the time the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center — just after Trump and others landed in Johnstown, Pa.
“God bless America,” White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said when the moment of silence ended.
The president repeated, “God bless America.”
Also on board Air Force One were US Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino and White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
Trump will deliver remarks in Shanksville, where Flight 93 crashed in the three attacks on 9/11.
