President Trump became the first sitting president to take a ceremonial lap around the track at NASCAR’s Daytona 500 on Sunday.

The president’s tricked-out limousine, nicknamed “The Beast,” led drivers on the warm-up at the Daytona International Speedway.

It came after Trump, as the race’s grand marshal, issued the command: “Gentlemen, start your engines.”

Moments earlier, Trump had joked in an interview with Fox that he wanted to take a racecar for a spin.

“I’m going to hop into one of these cars and I’m going to get into this race if possible. I love the idea,” he said.

Not long after Trump’s limo exited the track, rain began to fall and the start of the race was momentarily delayed.

Air Force One took off to take Trump home to Washington D.C. as drivers returned to their cars.
