Rep. Mondaire Jones’ bid to represent the newly drawn Lower Manhattan-Brooklyn congressional district is getting an across-the-river boost from US Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey.

First-term House member Jones — who currently represents parts of Westchester County and most of Rockland County — is “a tireless, relentless, and persistent force for good,” gushed Booker, a Democratic former presidential candidate, in a press release Thursday.

Booker added that he is “proud to endorse ” Jones in what he labels his “re-election campaign,” despite him competing in a different district than the one he was elected to represent in 2020.

“I’ve worked with Rep. Jones on many issues and I’ve seen up close his passion for serving his constituents and making real change,” Booker said. “I know he’ll never give up in the fight to make his district, our nation, and the world better.

Jones welcomed Booker’s seal of approval, calling him a “role model America’s children deserve.”

“We share a passion for creating high-quality, affordable housing, and together have taken on a broken system in Washington to deliver for working families,” he said.

The freshman congressman is running in a packed field of candidates vying to represent New York’s 10th Congressional District, which includes Lower Manhattan as well as brownstone Brooklyn neighborhoods like Park Slope and Carroll Gardens — where a report and city records show Jones moved June 6 and registered to vote a week later.

Jones — who last summer cast a series of proxy votes via a COVID-19 pandemic allowance while in the French Riviera for a celebrity’s wedding — has previously been given a thumbs-up in the August contest by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), a retail workers union, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC, and the Congressional Black Caucus PAC.

Among the more than a dozen House hopefuls in the Aug. 23 Democratic primary are ex-Mayor Bill de Blasio, Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou, City Councilwoman Carlina Rivera, and President Donald Trump impeachment lawyer Daniel Goldman.

Jones’ endorsement from across the Hudson River comes days after union SEIU 1199 announced its support for Rivera.

It also comes after The Post reported Sunday that Jones broadcast his intention to barnstorm the country after next month’s primary election in the hopes of helping fellow Democrats in states like Arizona and Georgia — a trip he spoke about on a podcast before even relocating to the New York City district he is seeking to represent.

The next day, his new Brooklyn neighbors seethed about the “carpetbagger” running to speak for residents of the five boroughs in Washington, DC, despite having spent little time living among them — and for having the Peach State on his mind before moving to the Big Apple.
