"President Trump is a candidate who is not afraid of hearing from new, loud and often-critical voices," he went on. "In light of what happened to him on Saturday, he has proven to be one tough S-O-B!"

MILWAUKEE — Sen. Marsha Blackburn warned the RNC audience of the tax and regulatory ramifications of giving President Biden another term in office.

By Victor Nava

Sen. JD Vance revealed Monday that former President Donald Trump asked to speak with his 7-year-old son when he called to tell the Ohio Republican that he had been tapped to be his running mate.

Vance (R-Ohio) told Fox News host Sean Hannity that his son was making noise in the background during the call, and that he didn’t know if Trump was going to be delivering “good or bad” news.

“The guy that just got shot at takes the time to talk to my 7-year-old, it’s a moment i’ll never forget,” Vance said.

The VP nominee said that his views about the former president back in 2016 were wrong, referring to when he called Trump “America’s Hitler”

“I was certainly skeptical of Donald Trump in 2016,” Vance admitted, adding that “President Trump changed my mind.”

“We saw the results of the Trump presidency,” the Ohio Republican argued, claiming that he was “not really” political back then.

Michigan RNC chair says JD Vance is good VP choice: 'Great to have someone from Midwest'

By Diana Nerozzi

MILWAUKEE-- Michigan RNC Chair Pete Hoekstra told The Post he thought Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) was a great choice for the Midwest.

"We've been doing pretty well in Michigan, to begin with... You know there's a rivalry between Michigan and Ohio [in football]. But regardless of that -- plus the fact that it's not much of a rivalry anymore -- we're beating Ohio," Hoekstra teased.

"JD is going to be a good help. It's great to have somebody from the Midwest. Understands the automobile industry, understands what's happening with the energy, understands the Great Lakes, understands our issues."
