Rudy Giuliani wound up with egg on his face Monday when, while introducing Donald Trump in Youngstown, Ohio, he bizarrely claimed that Islamic terrorists had never attacked the United States until after President Obama was elected in 2008.

Curiously, the gaffe came just seconds after Giuliani referred to the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, when George W. Bush was president.

“Under those eight years before Obama came along, we didn’t have any successful radical Islamic terrorist attacks in the United States. They all started when [Hillary] Clinton and Obama got into office,” Giuliani said, sending the Twitterati into a frenzy.

“The terrorists attacked on 9/11 because they knew Obama would be the next president,” Cassandra Nicholson wrote sarcastically.
