The White House was briefly placed on lockdown Monday morning while the Secret Service investigated a suspicious package found on the North Lawn.
“Secret Service Uniformed Division Officers are responding to an incident involving a suspicious package located on Pennsylvania Ave. Pedestrian traffic is closed along Pennsylvania Ave. between 15th and 17th streets to include Lafayette Park,” the service posted on Twitter.
By 12:40 p.m., agents had determined that the package was not dangerous and called the lockdown off.
