Time magazine has flatly denied telling President Trump that he was “probably” going to be crowned their “Person of the Year.”
Offended that he wasn’t being absolutely assured of the honor, Trump earlier fumed that he was removing himself from consideration completely.
“Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named ‘Man (Person) of the Year,’ like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot.
I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!” Trump
Friday.
But the magazine later countered on Twitter that Trump had a botched understanding of the process.
“The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year,” the tweet explained. “TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.”

Before his abrupt withdrawal, Trump was in the running for a second consecutive “Person of the Year” honor.
He claimed the title after winning the election last year, when the magazine called him the “President of the Divided States of America.”
Time is conducting a poll through Dec. 3 asking readers who they’d like to see as this year’s honoree.
Leading the pack is new heir to the Saudi throne Mohammed Bin Salman with 20 percent of the vote.
Trump is currently in second place with 5 percent.
His nemesis Hillary Clinton has 4 percent, but is trailing behind “The Dreamers” and the “#MeToo” movement to expose sex harassment.
