After the pomp and circumstance of this week’s royal visit, President Trump will face a very different audience Friday, when he travels to The Villages retirement complex for an event with seniors before attending a dinner in Palm Beach.

The House and Senate have left Washington for a scheduled recess after voting Thursday to reopen the Department of Homeland Security following a 75-day shutdown, as well as extend the federal government’s power to surveil foreign terror suspects without a warrant by 45 additional days while negotiating a longer-term continuation of the controversial program.

Trump vows gas prices will ‘snap back’ after Iran war

By Victor Nava

President Trump insisted Friday that gasoline prices will “snap back” and the cost of oil will “drop like a rock” once the Iran war is settled.

“I think we had the greatest economy in history in my first administration, and in the second, I think we're blowing it away – but we had to make a detour,” Trump said in a speech to the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches.

“I'm sorry. We had to make a detour to Iran. Everything will snap back,” he continued.

The president noted gas prices were “down to less than $2” in some areas “just before the little skirmish that is taking place.”

“I believe it'll snap back very, very quickly as soon as – there's so much oil,” Trump continued. “These ships are loaded up with oil they can't get out of the strait …  I think we're going to have it solved. I think everyone in this room is going to be very happy and very impressed.”

Later on in his speech he reiterated, “I think most of the people in this room understand that as soon as it's over, [oil prices are] going to drop like a rock.”

“And I think it goes below where it was because there's so much oil.”

Trump quips US forces will take over Cuba ‘on the way back’ from Iran: ‘We'll finish one first’

By Victor Nava

President Trump quipped Friday that the US “will be taking over” Cuba – but not until the Iran war is finished.

The president, during a speech at the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, was recognizing an architect who hails “from a place called Cuba,” when he declared “we will be taking over almost immediately.”

“Cuba's got problems,” Trump said.

In a reference to the Iran war, he added, “We'll finish one first. I like to finish a job.”

“What we'll do on the way back from Iran, we'll have one of our big – maybe the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, the biggest in the world – we'll have that come in, stop about a hundred yards offshore, and they'll say, ‘Thank you very much. We give up,’” Trump joked.

Trump says 'conga line' of ships are loading up on US oil amid Strait of Hormuz blockade

By Victor Nava

President Trump touted the level of US oil production amid the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, claiming a "conga line" of ships are in the Gulf of America ready to load up.

"More oil is being drilled right now than at any time in the history of our country," Trump said during a speech at the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches. "We're doing double Saudi Arabia and Russia combined."

"And you see all of those big, gorgeous ships coming up from all over the world because the [Strait of Hormuz] is closed, by us .... they're coming to Texas, Louisiana to load up," the president added.

"They're all heading up, and you see the line, they call it the conga line."

Trump administration pulling 5K troops out of Germany over Iran war criticism

By Victor Nava

Pentagon officials revealed Friday that 5,000 US troops will be pulled out of Germany amid the rift between Berlin and President Trump over the Iran war.

Describing recent German rhetoric about the war as “inappropriate and unhelpful," a senior Pentagon official told Reuters “the president is rightly reacting to these counterproductive remarks."

The withdrawal is expected to be completed over the next 6-12 months.

About 35,000 active duty US military personnel are stationed in Germany.

On Monday, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz argued the US had been “humiliated by the Iranian leadership.”

“The Iranians are clearly stronger than expected and the Americans clearly have no truly convincing strategy in the negotiations either,” Merz said.

Meanwhile, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has described the Iran war as a “disastrous mistake,” accusing the US of violating international law.

Trump briefed on eliminating Iranian leadership holding up peace deal: source

By Caitlin Doornbos

Top military brass have presented President Trump with options to wipe out Iranian leaders holding up the ongoing peace negotiations as discord within the regime continues to throw off talks, a source familiar with a Thursday briefing by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine and CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper.

Other targets were also presented, including striking various points along the Strait of Hormuz, the source added.

The news comes as President Trump repeatedly lamented the fractures among Iranian leadership, telling reporters that the decision makers are "confused" and "disjointed."

"One says one thing, one says another,” he said of negotiation efforts so far.

"She's done a great job, but she hates it when I do the thing on weightlifting," President Trump told seniors at an event in The Villages, Fla., touting his administration's tax cuts.

The president had been discussing his imitations of transgender weightlifters competing against women.

"She says, 'It's so un-presidential.' And she hates when I dance too," added Trump. "She hates when I dance to what sometimes referred to as the gay national anthem. You know, she hates it."

"There's never been anything like it — never — hit number one," he said of the Village People song. "It was number 532 years ago, and it went to number one for months."

Trump said that the first lady remains "a very elegant woman. She goes, 'Darling, please don't dance. It's not presidential.' I said, 'It may not be presidential, but I'm leading by 20 points in the poll, so."

Trump says it's 'treasonous' for 'radical left' to doubt US military success in Iran

By Josh Christenson

President Trump suggested Friday that it was "treasonous" for the "radical left" to doubt the US military's successes in Iran.

"I don't like talking about it until the jobs are finished. Let's not talk about anything until it gets finished. But think of it. Their navy's gone. Their air force is gone, their whole place is gone," Trump said of Operation Epic Fury.

"And then we get people to say that we're not winning. You know, we get the radical left to say we're not winning," he added.

"It's unbelievable. It's actually, it's actually — I believe it's treasonous, OK," he also said. "You want to know the truth? That's treasonous."

"I want you to remember that on May 1st, the bald guy came up and told you that this is important, and we've got midterms coming up, and you need to make sure that not only you vote, but find ten people and make sure that they vote."

The celebrity doctor then led the crowd in chants of "USA" as he praised Trump for not "apologizing for America" and "taking pride in this country."

Trump defends Iran war at The Villages: ‘We can't let them have a nuclear weapon’

“I did something that was, I don't know, foolish, brave, but it was smart. I would do it again,” he said during a speech at The Villages in Florida.

Trump noted that the market ramifications weren’t as bad as he was expecting.

“I thought the stock market would go down much more. I thought the oil prices would go up much more. I said, ‘But we have no choice. Whether it does or doesn't, I have to do what's right,’” he added.

“We can't let them have a nuclear weapon.”
