Follow along with the latest updates on the Trump administration and national politics Friday as President Trump announced he will “make a final determination” on a deal with Iran that would open the Strait of Hormuz.

In a Truth Social post, Trump made clear he wants the US to get the “nuclear dust” to ensure Tehran cannot ever develop a nuclear weapon.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called mediators’ efforts to secure an agreement between Washington and Tehran “effective” on Friday — with the semi-official Tasnim News Agency reporting the phrase means Iran has agreed to a deal.

Trump does not have any public events scheduled today.

White House releases doctor’s memo from Trump’s visit to Walter Reed: ‘Remains in excellent health’

By Victor Nava

President Trump is in “excellent health” and “fully fit” to carry out his duties as commander-in-chief, his doctor wrote in a memo released by the White House Friday night.

The memo outlines the results of Trump’s six month physical examination earlier this week by Dr. Sean Barbabella at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

“President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function,” Barbabella wrote.

“His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being,” he added. “Cognitive and physical performance are excellent.

“He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”

The president’s “cardiac age” was measured to be about “14 years younger than his chronological age,” Barbabella found.

The doctor also discovered “improvement” in “slight lower leg swelling” that was found in his last exam, and noted the “scarring” on Trump’s right ear from the gunshot wound he suffered during the July 2024 assassination attempt against him.

Trump is taking two cholesterol control medications and aspirin. Barbabella noted that Trump’s aspirin regime, along with frequent handshaking, is contributing to the “common and benign” bruising on his hand.

The president also took the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and got 30 out of 30 questions correct.

Trump snubs Nancy Mace – endorses Pam Evette in South Carolina governor’s race

By Victor Nava

President Trump endorsed South Carolina Republican Lt. Gov. Pam Evette in the state’s governor’s race Friday – in a massive blow to Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC).

Evette is the front-runner in the race, according to two polls released by the Trafalgar Group and South Carolina Policy Council earlier this week, which show Mace trailing by 3-5 percentage points.

“Highly Respected and very popular Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina, Pam Evette, is an America First Patriot who has been with me from the very beginning,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“She never wavered, never let me down, and was the only South Carolina Gubernatorial Candidate to Endorse me as soon as I launched my 2024 Presidential Campaign,” he added. “She crisscrossed South Carolina and other States for me, and I said, at the time, that this is truly something which I cannot forget!”

“Now Pam is running to be the next Governor of South Carolina, a place I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024, getting the Highest Vote, BY FAR, in the State’s History.”

Trump said Evette has “proven she has the Courage and Wisdom to deliver strong results for the people of her wonderful State, and our Nation.”

“As your next Governor, Pam will fight hard to Grow the Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Champion our Amazing Farmers and Ranchers, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, Safeguard our Elections, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment,” he added.

“Pam Evette is a good friend, fighter, and WINNER, and will be a terrific Governor of South Carolina. Pam has my Complete and Total Endorsement — SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”

Mace attributed the snub to her support for releasing government documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“I know I put the likelihood of an endorsement on the line when I demanded transparency on the Epstein files,” Mace wrote on X. “I demanded it because you deserved the truth - ALL OF IT - and as a survivor of a corrupt and broken court system, I will always pursue justice for those who deserve it.

“If sacrificing my values is the price of an endorsement, I will never pay it.”

Trump announces plans to transfer Kennedy Center operations to Congress after judge order removal of his name from facility

By Victor Nava

President Trump declared Friday that he has “no interest in continuing” to oversee operations and renovations at the Kennedy Center – and will move to transfer those responsibilities to Congress – after a federal judge ordered his name to be removed from the performing arts venue.

“Shockingly, a Judge appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, Christopher Cooper, ruled that The Kennedy Center, which was going to close in early July for largescale renovations and construction due to years of neglect, decay, and poor maintenance, and which was to be transformed by the Trump Administration into the Finest Facility of its kind, anywhere in the World, is not allowed to close for these renovations, which would not be possible to properly do without such a closure,” Trump wrote on Truth Social

“Additionally, Judge Cooper ruled that the 36 Member Board of Trustees, which unanimously voted to add the name ‘TRUMP’ onto the former Kennedy Center, making it The Trump Kennedy Center, did not have the right to do such an addition, and the name, ‘TRUMP,’ must be removed,” the president continued.

The institution has lost “Hundreds of Millions of Dollars” over the years, according to the president, who said he “took great pride” and “looked forward to making it into a Great and Prestigious WINNER for Washington, D.C.,” but argued Democrats and the judge “would rather see it DIE than have President Trump transform it into something that everyone could be proud of.”

“Therefore, based on the fact that the Radical Left Democrats care more about opposing your favorite President, ME, than saving a dying Performing Arts Center, almost all of which lose large amounts of money throughout the Country, we are going to be working with Congress to transfer this failing Institution back to them so they can make a determination as to what to do with it,” the president announced.

Trump claimed the building is currently “structurally dangerous … , with rotting beams, parking areas that are subject to collapse, and various other Life and Safety problems,” and said he ”cannot be involved with a situation where danger to the Public is allowed to flourish in plain and open sight.”

“Unless I am free to do what I do better than anyone else, bring this Institution back, physically, financially, and artistically, I have no interest in continuing what could only be a hopeless journey into ‘NEVER NEVER LAND,’” the president continued.

He added, “I have instructed the Department of Commerce to make all necessary arrangements with Congress to allow a full and complete transfer of this Institution, giving them the responsibility for its Operation, Maintenance, and Management.”

Iran forms task force to finally plan late Ayatollah Khamenei's funeral

By Caitlin Doornbos

Tehran has begun assembling a "special task force" to plan the funeral of slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, state-affiliated media reported on Friday — more than three months after the 86-year-old was killed in strikes on the first day of the US-Iran war.

"Regarding the funeral ceremony of the martyred leader, the exact time has not yet been definitively determined It will be announced as soon as it is set by the relevant authorities," the Tehran Province Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council said, according to Tasnim news agency.

Khamenei and several other members of his family were killed in an Israeli strike on his official compound in Tehran.

The announcement that arrangements are finally underway comes as President Trump mulls an agreement with Iran that would extend the current cease-fire another 60 days, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the US blockade of Iranian naval ports.

Nikki Haley: No money for Iran until US has 'full ' control of nuclear material

By Caitlin Doornbos

Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley warned Friday that the US should not ease pressure on Iran until Washington has full control over Tehran’s nuclear material, accusing the regime of using negotiations to “stall” and “buy time.”

“The Iranian regime has never acted on good faith. It’s always the same play: stall, buy time, realign,” Haley wrote on X.

“We should not release assets or give sanctions relief until we have full access to and control of their nuclear material,” she added.

Haley’s remarks come as President Trump weighs an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and begin nuclear negotiations with Tehran following three months of war.

Trump heads to Situation Room to 'make a final determination' on Iran

By Caitlin Doornbos

President Trump said Friday he will shortly "make a final determination" on a potential agreement with Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, drop the US blockade of Iranian ports and begin nuclear discussions.

"Iran must agree that they will never have a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb. The Hormuz Strait must be immediately open, no tolls, for unrestricted shipping traffic, in both directions," he wrote on Truth Social, laying out the list of terms included in the potential agreement. "All water mines (bombs), if any, will be terminated (we have removed, through detonation, numerous such mines with our great underwater mine sweepers.

"Iran will complete the immediate removal and/or detonation of any mines that are left, which will not be many!"

Trump further said "ships caught in the Strait due to our amazing and unprecedented Naval Blockade, which will now be lifted, may start the process of 'heading home!'"

"Say HELLO to your wives, husbands, parents, and families from me, your favorite President!"

The president further claimed that the US would dig out Iran's enriched Uranium as part of the deal, alongside Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

"The enriched material, sometimes referred to as 'Nuclear Dust,' which is buried deep underground with virtually collapsed mountains, caused by our powerful B2 Bomber attack 11 months ago, sitting on top of it, will be unearthed by the United States (which, it is agreed, is the only Country, along with China, with the mechanical capability of doing so!), in close coordination and conjunction with the Islamic Republic of Iran, plus the International Atomic Energy Agency, and DESTROYED.

"No money will be exchanged, until further notice. Other items, of far less importance, have been agreed to. I will be meeting now, in the Situation Room, to make a final determination. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Iranian president 'implicitly' confirms US deal reached: IRGC-linked media

By Caitlin Doornbos

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called mediators' efforts to secure an agreement between Washington and Tehran "effective" on Friday — with the semi-official Tasnim News Agency reporting the phrase means Iran has agreed to a deal.

"... I thanked Malaysia for its humanitarian stance and Pakistan for its initiative and effective efforts to reach an agreement," Pezeshkian said in a post to X.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-affiliated Tasnim jumped on the statement, alleging it meant a deal has been made.

The White House on Thursday confirmed President Trump was reviewing a potential agreement with Iran to drop the US blockade on its ports in exchange for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and a start to nuclear talks.

Trump mocks Jill Biden over claim she thought Joe had stroke during debate

By Emily Goodin

President Trump blasted former first lady Jill Biden Friday morning over her claim that she thought her husband Joe was having a stroke during his disastrous 2024 debate.

“She said that she thought he was having a 'stroke,' and various other really bad things, and yet never rushed onto the stage to help her troubled husband, as any good wife would do,” the president wrote on Truth Social.

"The only thing she failed to mention was how well I was doing prior to his near total collapse."

In Jill Biden's forthcoming memoir, "View from the East Wing," she recalls frantically wondering whether her husband had been drugged or suffered a medical emergency during the CNN forum in Atlanta.

“[D]id my strong performance in that debate cause him to plain and simple 'choke,' leading to his ignominious defeat, or were other reasons the cause?" Trump concluded. "Nobody else knows the answer to that, BUT I DO!!!"

Trump explains why he didn’t wait until after midterms to attack Iran: ‘I have to do what's right’

By Victor Nava

President Trump argued in a recent interview with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, that ordering military strikes against Iran ahead of the midterm elections was the right thing to do.

The commander-in-chief noted that having major US elections every two years presents a “structural problem” for most presidents when it comes to making tough decisions, providing them only a “very small window” to do something that could be viewed as politically unpopular.

“So, if you wanted to play that game, then you would wait until the midterms are over, and then, the following hour, you will attack Iran, because they cannot have a nuclear weapon – most people agree with me on that,” the president said on “My View with Lara Trump.”

He continued, “But then it gets maybe carried into, you know, the next election, whether it's a midterm or not. So you have a very short window for doing some – anything having to do with war – but I don't view that window.”

“I view it: I have to do what's right.”

The full interview will air this Saturday on Fox News.

Trump says an Iran deal that isn’t ‘good for us’ will result in renewed military offensive against regime

By Victor Nava

President Trump declared in a recent interview with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, that if Iran doesn’t agree to a deal that is “good for us” he will order a restart of the US military offensive against the regime.

“Is there a line that they would cross for you to go on the offensive again militarily?” the president was asked by the host of “My View with Lara Trump.”

“Well, a deal that wasn't going to be good for us is the line, ultimately,” the president responded.

“I'm playing it out, and we're going to see,” he continued, “and that's what I do. I negotiate. They negotiate. They're very good negotiators. They're crafty. But, in the end, we have all the cards because we have defeated them militarily.”

Trump noted that Iran’s navy is “at the bottom of the sea” and their air force is “totally gone.”

The president’s full interview on the program will air this Saturday on Fox News.
