Stay up to date with live coverage of the Trump administration and national politics Friday as the House votes on the Senate-approved measure to fund much of the Department of Homeland Security through September.

The Senate passed the resolution early Friday. However, House Republicans are preparing to reject the bill. It comes after travelers dealt with long security lines at airports after a number of TSA officers quit or called out. TSA officers have not been paid in more than a month due to the partial government shutdown.

President Trump signed an executive order on Friday ordering that TSA agents be paid, bypassing Congress.

On Friday, Trump’s homeland security adviser, Stephen Miller, also accused Senate Dems of “legislative terrorism” over the 42-day shutdown of the DHS.

Meanwhile, President Trump will deliver remarks to farmers on the South Lawn of the White House at 12:30 p.m. He’ll also deliver remarks at the Further Investment Initiative at 5:30 p.m. ET in Miami.

Exclusive: White House unveils ‘OnlyFarms’ website, welcomes farmers with golden tractor on South Lawn

By Emily Goodin

The Trump White House showed farmers some love Friday with a suggestive new website highlighting its agricultural policy, along with a massive golden tractor on the South Lawn.

The administration unveiled “OnlyFarms” — yes, the name is a deliberate play on the adult website OnlyFans — which is housed on the official WhiteHouse.gov website, but can only be found by searching “OnlyFarms.gov.”

While less sexy than its more popular counterpart, OnlyFarms includes a searchable map where users can click on their state to see the average amount they’ve saved due to Trump’s farming agenda.

The nation’s agricultural sector is struggling with high fuel and fertilizer costs as a result of President Trump’s global tariff scheme and the war against Iran.

VP Vance says Rep. Ilhan Omar 'definitely committed immigration fraud' by allegedly marrying bro

By Josh Christenson

Vice President JD Vance said Friday that Rep. Ilhan Omar defrauded the US by allegedly marrying her brother to help him remain legally in the country.

“We actually think that Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America,” Vance told right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson on the latest episode of his show.

Vance added that he's been discussing legal remedies with White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, explaining that questions have been raised: “How do you go after her? How do you investigate her? How do you actually build the case to actually get some justice for the American people?”

The vice president claimed the Minnesota Democrat “has been at the center of a lot of the worst fraudsters in the Somalian community” — and that was also something that should be under investigation.

"I'm worried about the immigration," Vance said. "I'm also worried about: What did Ilhan Omar know about what was happening in the Somali-American community? And why was nobody looking into it until, frankly, Donald Trump came along?"

The order came in the form of a memorandum to new Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and draws on the presidential power to act in a national emergency.

TSA workers are in their second month without pay after a partial shutdown of DHS funds. The Senate - in the early hours of Thursday morning - passed a measure to fund the department but the House rejected that on Friday, prolonging a six-week shutdown.

House will vote 'as soon as possible' on DHS funding bill: Speaker Mike Johnson

By Josh Christenson

The US House of Representatives will vote "as soon as possible" on a stopgap measure funding the Department of Homeland Security, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said Friday.

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) speaks to the media, flanked by House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), after the U.S. Senate voted to end a partial government shutdown that has snarled airports across the country, though it did not resolve a dispute over immigration enforcement that prompted the six-week standoff in the first place, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., U.S., March 27, 2026.

The revised bill comes after the Senate passed their own DHS funding measure that excluded spending for Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as portions of Customs and Border Protection.

President Trump has given the House his full support for the approach, as Republican and Democratic senators have already left town for a two-week recess.

The White House Office of Management and Budget is working on the details, he noted, and the approach has Trump's full support.

House Speaker Mike Johnson rejects Senate-passed DHS funding bill

By Josh Christenson

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) rejected a Senate-passed Department of Homeland Security funding bill on Friday that he claimed had jammed his chamber with a "radical, crazy agenda."

"This gambit that was done last night is a joke," Johnson erupted in a news conference. "It can't be the case that every Senate Republican read this bill."

The House speaker then read from the measure that funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as for Customs and Border Protection would be "zero" if his chamber passed it.

"We're not doing that, and it is unconscionable to me that the Democrats would force some sort of negotiation at three o'clock in the morning and try to hoist this upon the American people and then get on their jets and go home for their holiday — and pretend and think that we're going to go along with that," Johnson rattled off.

"Republicans are going to continue to govern and do the right thing — morally, legally and politically. We're going to take care of those that take care of us."

Rubio: Iran war will conclude in 'weeks, not months'

By Emily Goodin

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the war in Iran will conclude in 'weeks, not months' and without ground troops.

"We are on or ahead of schedule in that operation, and expect to conclude at the appropriate time here, in a matter of weeks, not months, and the progress is going very well," he told reporters as he left the G7 meeting in France.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio gestures as he speaks to the press following a G7 Foreign Ministers' meeting with Partner Countries before his departure at the Bourget airport in Le Bourget, outside Paris, on March 27, 2026. And he said he didn't think ground troops would be necessary.

'We can achieve all of our objectives without ground troops, but we are always going to be prepared to give the president maximum optionality and maximum opportunity to adjust to contingencies should they emerge," Rubio noted.

House Freedom Caucus rips Senate-passed DHS funding bill

By Josh Christenson

Members of the House Freedom Caucus are ripping the Senate for jamming them with a Department of Homeland Security funding bill that doesn't fund federal immigration enforcement.

"It is absolutely offensive to the people that we represent that the Senate would send over a bill that doesn't fund Border Patrol and the core components of ICE," Roy said.

"Could the Senate be any more lazy than to send to us a bill that doesn't do the job — and then leave town?" he fumed. "We're going to send back a bill that's responsible."
