Trump announces executive order on 2026 midterms, vows to fight mail-in ballots
By Ryan KingPresident Trump announced an upcoming executive order that he will sign to "help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections" and vowed to wage a campaign against mail-in ballots.
"WE WILL BEGIN THIS EFFORT, WHICH WILL BE STRONGLY OPPOSED BY THE DEMOCRATS BECAUSE THEY CHEAT AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE, by signing an EXECUTIVE ORDER to help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections," Trump declared on Truth Social Monday.
The president then seemingly suggested that the federal government has significant power over how states conduct their elections.
"Remember, the States are merely an 'agent' for the Federal Government in counting and tabulating the votes. They must do what the Federal Government, as represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY, to do," he added.
Following his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Trump told Fox News that the Kremlin tyrant complained about the unfairness of mail-in ballots in America's 2020 election.
