The first-ever sitdown between Presidents Trump and Putin wrapped up Friday after more than two hours.
The leaders were initially expected to spend about 30 minutes in the closed-door bilateral meeting at the G-20 summit in Hamburg.
White House officials are expected to give a rundown as to what the two discussed during the session, which was also attended by Tillerson and Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Putin told the Russian state-run news organization Sputnik that he and Trump spoke about a range of issues during the chat, which lasted two hours and 16 minutes.
“I had a very lengthy conversation with the President of the United States, there were a lot of issues such as Ukraine, Syria, other problems, some bilateral issues,” Putin said.
“We again returned to the issues of fighting terrorism and cybersecurity.”
