President Trump blasted Democrats in Congress for immigration deadlock in a Saturday tweet.

“Republicans want to fix DACA far more than the Democrats do,” he posted at 1:50 pm. “The Dems had all three branches of government back in 2008-2011, and they decided not to do anything about DACA. They only want to use it as a campaign issue. Vote Republican!”

DACA recipients – who were brought to the United States as children by illegal immigrant parents — were shielded from deportation by an Obama Administration executive order that Trump has rescinded.

Democrats have rejected a Trump proposal to extend DACA protections in exchange for border-wall funding and extensive changes to the legal immigration system. Trump’s Saturday post echoed GOP accusations that Democrats are dragging their feet to score political points.

Trump, spending a rainy day in the White House, has been issuing a barrage of tweets on a range of hot-button topics, including the dueling House Intelligence Committee memos and the resignations of two of his staffers over domestic violence allegations.
