President Trump slammed Michael Cohen, his former personal lawyer, at a press conference Thursday, calling his testimony in front of Congress a “fake hearing.”

Trump addressed Cohen in Hanoi, Vietnam, hours after his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had collapsed without reaching a denuclearization agreement — and less than a day after Cohen told a congressional panel that Trump is a “racist” and “conman.”

“Having a fake hearing like that and having it in the middle of this very important summit is really a terrible thing,” Trump said.

He added that Cohen’s testimony was “pretty shameful,” but he felt vindicated that Cohen testified he had no evidence of direct collusion between the Trump 2016 presidential campaign and the Russian government.

“He said no collusion with the Russian hoax,” Trump said of Cohen’s remarks.

“I said, ‘I wonder why he didn’t lie about that too like he lied about everything else,'” he added.

Cohen on Wednesday told the House Oversight and Reform Committee that Trump personally reimbursed him for illegal hush-money payments after he was inaugurated president.

He also recounted racist statements made by Trump, including a time when Trump asked him to “name a country run by a black person that wasn’t a ‘s–thole.’”
