President Trump took parting shots at fired FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe early Saturday — calling the sacking a “great day for Democracy.”
Just hours after McCabe’s late-night firing by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the president piled on and also took one more swipe at former FBI director James Comey.
“Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI,” the president tweeted at 12:08 a.m.
“Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!”
McCabe had been a favorite target of Trump, who reportedly even went after the fed’s wife – once calling her a “loser.”
