President-elect Donald Trump loves the “passion” of those protesting the election results across the country.

“Love the fact that the small groups of protesters last night have passion for our great country,” Trump tweeted Friday morning. “We will all come together and be proud!”

The gracious gesture — playing down the widespread protests and even riots — is a change from Thursday night when Trump went on a mini-tweetstorm flashing annoyance with his detractors.

“Just had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!” the future leader of the free world tweeted.

In Portland, police were assaulted with projectiles by anti-Trump demonstrators and chaos ensued.

Fires were set and private property destroyed in what police labeled a “riot.”
