President Trump compared himself to Andrew Jackson Wednesday on a trip commemorating the seventh president’s 250th birthday.
“It was during the revolution that Jackson first confronted and defied an arrogant elite. Does that sound familiar to you?” Trump said. “Oh, I know the feeling, Andrew.”
Trump also said he was wowed by Jackson’s Nashville, Tenn., plantation, the Hermitage.
“Inspirational visit, I have to tell you. I’m a fan,” he said.
Following the tour of Jackson’s home, Trump laid a wreath at Old Hickory’s tomb. He saluted as Taps was played.
