The Twitterverse pounced on
when it appeared the 45th president of the United States cribbed a line from Bane — the hulking bad guy from the 2012 Batman flick “The Dark Knight Rises.”
“We are transferring power from Washington, DC, and giving it back to you, the people,” Trump said at one point.

Deadspin editor Tim Burke juxtaposed the clip with one of Bane, played by Tom Hardy, intoning menacingly, “And we give it back to you, the people.”
Twitter users didn’t waste a second:
“Bane sounded more sincere lol,”
