Former President Donald Trump went to bat for his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani Thursday morning following news that the FBI raided the former New York mayor’s apartment, calling the action “so unfair, and such a double standard.”

Speaking on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria,” the 45th president defended his personal attorney in no uncertain terms.

“Rudy Giuliani is a great patriot, he does these things, he just loves this country, and they raid his apartment,” the former commander-in-chief remarked. “It’s like, so unfair, and such a double standard.”

“It’s very, very unfair,” he continued. “Rudy is a patriot who loves this country and I don’t know what they’re looking for, what they’re doing. They said it had to do with filing of various papers. Rudy loves this country so much.”

On Wednesday, federal agents raided Giuliani’s Manhattan apartment and office, two law enforcement sources briefed on the matter told The Post.

The agents executed a search warrant and seized electronic devices from both locations, one source said.

The raids, according to reports, were tied to an investigation into Giuliani’s dealings in Ukraine, specifically related to whether he illegally lobbied the then-president on behalf of a Ukrainian businessman.

That probe is being carried out by the Southern District of New York, which Giuliani once led as US attorney.

It was Giuliani who made headlines in 2019 and 2020 with his well-documented efforts to reveal any information related to Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine, specifically relating to the future first son’s position on the board of Burisma, a natural gas company.

Giuliani’s communications became the subject of the first impeachment attempt against Trump, which focused on his efforts to push the Ukrainians to investigate the Bidens.

Giuliani later played a pivotal role in publicizing the contents of a laptop that formerly belonged to Hunter Biden, including documents that appear to link President Biden to his son’s business relationships in China and Ukraine.

A Delaware computer repairman provided Giuliani with a copy of the hard drive and The Post reported on those contents during the 2020 campaign for president.

Trump is not the only prominent Republican who has come to Giuliani’s defense.

Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill Wednesday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said, “I’m very suspicious of a lot of this stuff. We’ve been told a thousand times that everybody in the Trump world was a Russian agent. It turned out to be not accurate.”

“I’ve known Rudy for a long time. Because somebody issues a search warrant doesn’t mean you’re guilty.”
