President Trump denied calling Meghan Markle, the American-born Duchess of Sussex, “nasty” in an interview with a British newspaper.

​”I never called Meghan Markle ‘nasty.’ Made up by the Fake News Media, and they got caught cold! Will @CNN, @nytimes and others apologize? Doubt it!,” Trump posted on Twitter Sunday.

Trump, who’s traveling to England for a state visit this week, told The Sun newspaper in an interview published Friday that he wasn’t aware that she referred to him as “misogynistic” and “divisive” during the 2016 election.

“I didn’t know that. What can I say? I didn’t know that she was nasty,” he said, according to the newspaper.
