President Trump claimed that members of his White House staff always carry out his orders, disputing claims in special counsel Robert Mueller’s report that aides often ignored his commands.

“Nobody disobeys my orders,” Trump told reporters at the Easter Egg roll at the White House on Monday.

Mueller, in the report released last Thursday, chronicled numerous instances in which associates and administration officials routinely ignored his directives.

Former White House counsel Don McGahn refused an order from Trump in June 2017 to have Mueller fired.

And former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski failed to carry a message to then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to limit the scope of the special counsel’s investigation.

And when Trump asked former FBI Director James Comey to steer clear of investigating former national security adviser Michael Flynn, Comey refused.

Mueller concluded that Trump’s attempts to interfere in his investigation of Russian meddling during the election were “mostly unsuccessful … because the persons who surrounded the President declined to carry out orders or accede to his requests.”
