The federal government now has a hiring freeze, thanks to an executive action signed Monday by President Trump.

Trump’s move on his first full day in office is part of a slew executive actions meant to signal his priorities and policies for his first term in the White House.

The pay freeze will also prevent federal workers from getting pay increases.

The military, however, is exempt from the president’s order.
