President Trump on Thursday told the US Air Force Academy’s graduating Class of 2019 that thanks to their training and education they would always be ready to defend America and its people.

Thank you to all of the brave men and women graduating from the United States Air Force Academy today!

“Each of you has the sharp intellect, character, inner strength, and the courage to vanquish any menace that dares to threaten our country or our people. We are always ready, always ready,” the commander in chief told the 991 grads in the academy’s 61st graduating class.

Speaking beneath brilliant azure skies with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop at the academy’s Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo., Trump hailed the graduates, who will become second lieutenants once they receive their diplomas, as well as their families, the faculty and other Air Force personnel at the school.

“You choose to break boundaries, unlock new frontiers, and live life on the cutting edge,” he said.

“You are the ones who will invent and define the next generation of air warfare and you are the ones who will secure American victory to dominate the future. America must rule the skies,” added the president, who promised to shake the hand of all of the “rocked-ribbed American patriots” who were matriculating.

Afterwards, the Air Force’s famed Thunderbirds staged an exhibition of aerial derring-do.
