WASHINGTON — Donald Trump raised the possibility Tuesday of teaming up with Ben Carson on a GOP presidential ticket.

“Well, I like him. He likes me. Stranger things have happened, that I can tell you. But it’s too early to think about that,” Trump told CNN.

A new CNN/ORC poll shows Trump and Carson as the only two Republican candidates in double digits.

Trump has 27 percent, Carson is at 22 percent and Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio trail at 8 percent.

Mike Huckabee and Rand Paul follow at 5 percent. Once high-flying Carly Fiorina dropped 11 points in the last month to 4 percent.

“We’re not as different as people think,” Trump said of the soft-spoken Carson.

“But there is certainly a different style. You know, I have great assets and he has some great assets,” Trump said.
