A Manhattan grand jury weighing whether to indict former President Donald Trump is set to reconvene Monday and hear testimony from a witness who will rebut recent claims by a Trump ally, The Post has learned.
The unidentified witness is scheduled to appear after the grand jury assembles at 2 p.m., according to a source familiar with the matter.
Prosecutors were unable to arrange the testimony last week, leading to chaotic sessions when the grand jury didn’t hear evidence in the case for two days straight. The panel has been meeting three days a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Sources have said the witness would counter testimony delivered on March 21 by lawyer Robert Costello, who appeared in support of the 76-year-old former president to rebut two days of testimony by former Trump lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen earlier this month.
The panel is reportedly reviewing evidence tied to Trump’s alleged falsification of business records related to $130,000 in hush money paid by Cohen to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

The panel will reportedly weigh whether to hit Trump with falsification of business records related to hush money payments. REUTERSCohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, told The Post on Monday that he was in California and would have to be with Cohen if his client were recalled to the witness stand. Costello also said he wasn’t scheduled to testify on Monday.
A number of news reports last week suggested Trump could be indicted – and the former president himself wrote on social media that he expected to be arrested.
But the grand jury unexpectedly hit the brakes after hearing from a witness on Trump’s side last Monday.
The panel then didn’t meet Wednesday — and didn’t hear evidence in the Trump case Thursday as they’d been scheduled to do.

A spokesperson for the Manhattan DA’s Office denied that.
Trump, meanwhile, launched into tirades on his social media platform, Truth Social, assailing Bragg and once referring to him as a “Soros-backed animal.”
“THIS IS NO LEGAL SYSTEM, THIS IS THE GESTAPO, THIS IS RUSSIA AND CHINA, BUT WORSE. DISGRACEFUL!” Trump fumed in one post on Thursday.
In another post on Friday, Trump shared an image of himself holding a baseball bat next to an image of Bragg.
