Donald Trump said he wants to be the nation’s builder-in-chief after regaling New York Republicans Thursday night with stories about his major Big Apple construction projects — including the Grand Hyatt hotel, where he spoke.
“I love to speak at the Grand Hyatt. I built this hotel!” Trump said.
Unlike on the campaign trail, Trump steered clear of discussing polarizing issues, such as immigration, and instead professed love of his hometown and “New York” values — a dig at GOP rival Ted Cruz.
Cruz and John Kasich also spoke.
