President Donald Trump praised “great Republicans” in the Senate for passing a $1.2 trillion tax reform bill Saturday, just a few hours after the early-morning vote.

“Biggest Tax Bill and Tax Cuts in history just passed in the Senate,” Trump tweeted just before 8 a.m. “Now these great Republicans will be going for final passage. Thank you to House and Senate Republicans for your hard work and commitment!”

The 500-page bill narrowly passed the Senate 51-49 shortly before 2 a.m.

The Senate and House are now expected to negotiate a final version of the measure to address differences in their two tax reform bills.

Trump tweeted about an hour after the bill’s passage that they’re “one step closer to delivering MASSIVE tax cuts” and that he looks forward to signing the final version before Christmas.
