President Trump and his former chief strategist are now speaking — through their lawyers.

Legal representatives for the president reportedly sent a cease-and-desist letter to Steve Bannon on Wednesday — imploring the fiery activist to stop disparaging Trump and his family, ABC News reported.

“You [Bannon] have breached the Agreement by, among other things, communicating with author Michael Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company, disclosing Confidential Information to Mr. Wolff, and making disparaging statements and in some cases outright defamatory statements to Mr. Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company, knowing that they would be included in Mr. Wolff’s book and publicity surrounding the marketing and sale of his book,” the statement read, according to ABC.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump had all staff members sign a non-disclosure agreement to prevent them from speaking negatively about the then-candidate.
