Obama applauds Trump’s Gaza peace deal: ‘We should all be encouraged and relieved’

Former President Barack Obama has hailed the impending cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas brokered by President Trump – writing on X that “an end to the conflict is within sight.”

After two years of unimaginable loss and suffering for Israeli families and the people of Gaza, we should all be encouraged and relieved that an end to the conflict is within sight; that those hostages still being held will be reunited with their families; and that vital aid can start reaching those inside Gaza whose lives have been shattered,” Obama wrote on X Thursday.

“More than that, though, it now falls on Israelis and Palestinians, with the support of the U.S. and the entire world community, to begin the hard task of rebuilding Gaza – and to commit to a process that, by recognizing the common humanity and basic rights of both peoples, can achieve a lasting peace,” the former president added.

Under the terms of the peace agreement, Hamas has agreed to release all hostages the terror group has kept captive in Gaza for the last two years early next week.

Trump says it's 'fine' if he doesn't win Nobel Peace Prize: 'I didn't do it for that'

By Steven Nelson

President Trump said Thursday that it's "fine" if he doesn't win the Nobel Peace Prize tomorrow — despite brokering a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas.

"I don't know what they're going to do, really, but I know this, that nobody in history has solved eight wars in a period of nine months and I've stopped eight wars," Trump said in the Oval Office.

"They'll have to do what they do. Whatever they do is fine," he added.

"I know this: I didn't do it for that. I did it because I saved a lot of lives. And that's the thing that bothers me so much about the Russia-Ukraine [war], 7,000 people are dying a week, young soldiers — they're almost all soldiers, of Ukraine and Russia. So in theory, does it affect us? No. But it's a terrible thing. And we'll get that solved too."

Trump: Spain could get thrown out of NATO without boosting defense budget

By Josh Christenson

"We had one laggard: Spain."

"They have no excuse not to do this, but that's all right," he added. "Maybe you should throw them out of NATO, frankly."

The founder of Muslims for Trump nominated the president for the Nobel Peace Prize Thursday after successfully getting Hamas to agree to a deal to wind down the war in Gaza.
