Treasury 'fully cooperating' with Jeffrey Epstein financial record requests, Oversight chairman says
By Josh ChristensonWASHINGTON — House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) announced Friday that the US Treasury Department was "fully cooperating" with his request for suspicious financial activity records related to deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
“This stands in stark contrast to the Biden Administration, which attempted to delay providing us with information regarding the Bidens’ suspicious financial transactions," Comer said.
"We will follow Epstein’s money trail to ensure transparency and accountability for the survivors and the American people.”
Treasury Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Jonathan Blum informed Comer in a letter that the department was ready to assist with the requests for Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) but would be involved in a lengthy process to make sure the disclosures abide by the Bank Secrecy Act.
