President Trump says that his own golf resort — Trump National Doral Miami — will host next year's G20 summit in Florida.
"Everybody wants it there because it's right next to the airport. It's the best location. It's beautiful — beautiful everything," Trump said Friday afternoon in the Oval Office.
"They actually requested that it be there because the location is the best and we will not make any money on it. You know, we're doing a deal where it's not going to be money — there's no money in it."

Trump said that his Doral resort will be used because "you can't get a room in Florida in December" and his own property will ensure that each country will "have their own buildings."
"It'll be incredible for them, and being like 10 minutes, less than 10 minutes, from the airport, and it's a big airport," he said.
"All of the planes will be able to land and go right into their quarters. So I think it'll work out."
Trump in 2019 announced plans to host the 2020 G7 summit at the Doral resort, but changed course in response to bipartisan criticism.
President Trump suggested former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo may have a better "chance of winning" against Democratic socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani in the Big Apple's mayoral race, rather than the incumbent Eric Adams.
"I would say that Cuomo might have a chance of winning if it was a war one-on-one," Trump said.

"If it's not one-on-one, it's going to be a hard race.
"And we'll get used to a communist [Mamdani], and he's going to have to go through the White House and get approvals for everything.
"We're going to make sure that New York is not hurt," the president promised. "We want to make sure that New York is cherished and taken care of."
President Trump announced Friday that "beautiful" Miami will host the G20 summit next year.
"As we celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary next year, the United States will have the honor of hosting the G20 summit right here in America for the first time in nearly 20 years," Trump said in the Oval Office.
"I'm thrilled to announce that the 2026 G20 conference... will be held in one of our country's greatest cities, beautiful Miami, Florida."
Mayor Francis Suarez, a Republican, appeared in the Oval Office for the announcement, and Trump said that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent would lead planning for the event agenda.
Trump did not share specific venues, but in 2019 he announced plans to host the 2020 G7 summit at his Trump National Doral Miami resort before abruptly changing course amid bipartisan criticism.
A group of Navy SEALs secretly entered North Korea in early 2019 to plant a device to intercept the communications of dictator Kim Jong Un — but ended up firing on unarmed civilians diving for shellfish, puncturing their lungs to conceal their bodies and aborting the mission, according to a report.

If successful, the mission could have delivered critical intelligence amid delicate nuclear negotiations between Kim and Trump, the outlet reported based on interviews with two dozen people, including civilian government officials, members of the first Trump administration, and current and former military personnel with knowledge of the mission.
President Trump threatened to shoot down Venezuelan military planes after two F-16s flew over the USS Jason Dunham guided missile destroyer.
"I don't want to talk about that, but if they do put us in a dangerous position, they'll be shot down," Trump said Friday after the threatening demonstration.

Trump ordered the US military to blow up a "drug-carrying boat" with 11 people on board Tuesday off the Venezuelan coast — after deploying US ships to the South American coast in August and putting a $50 million bounty on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's head for alleged drug-dealing.
President Trump claimed Friday that he knew nothing about a daring US military mission that he reportedly authorized in 2019 to plant a listening device inside North Korea.
"I don't know anything about it. I'm hearing it now for the first time," Trump said following a New York Times article on the mission, which reportedly was scuttled when Navy SEALs encountered an apparent fishing boat and killed two or three people on board.
The president said he will be "tough" on Venezuela and their drug rings going forward.
"We don't want drugs coming in from Venezuela or anybody else or anyplace else, and we'll be tough on that," he proclaimed in response to a question on the future strikes of the newly-branded Department of War.

President Trump said he thinks it's possible to rename the Defense Department as the War Department without congressional approval — but that he's going to ask for approval anyway.
"I'm not sure they have to. We're signing an executive order today, but we're going to find out," Trump said. "We'll put it before Congress."
